A summary of the feedback from the workshops with doctors

Between January and July, we at Astra Forum Foundation, with the support of our partners, were able to conduct 16 workshops aimed at pre-hospital care professionals on the topic of “Doctor-patient communication on vaccination”.

The issues and challenges facing the health system with regard to immunisation in the complicated environment of COVID-19 and the refugee crisis from Ukraine were discussed in detail. Different approaches were presented to improve doctor-patient communication to increase vaccination coverage among the country’s population.

The events were attended by different professionals, a large percentage of them (41%) general practitioners, from 36 localities. The guests were predominantly ladies and the average age of the participants was 53 years. Each of them had the opportunity to anonymously fill in a questionnaire to give their feedback on the usefulness of what they learned.

And here is a summary of the replies to the questions in our survey:

We also share some of the comments from the health professionals who were asked, “What is the MAIN reason that motivated you to take this workshop module?”. They chose to give an open answer rather than a selective answer.

“These meetings are long overdue, they should have taken place much earlier”

“I wanted to get answers to questions I was interested in, unfortunately the research has not been finalized and not everything is clear at this stage. But the meeting was very useful.”

“I am interested in public health research”

At the end of the survey, we asked our respondents to give feedback, opinion or comment in their own words. Here are some of the notable responses:

“There need to be stricter penalties for parents who refuse immunizations”

“It was a pleasure to hear and see respected medical professionals in person and listen to medical discussions at an academic level”

“More suitable premises are needed in order to hold discussions.”

“Seminars like this should be organized regularly”

The Astra Forum Foundation team is grateful for the attendance of all general practitioners, specialists, students and professors who attended the seminars held in the country. We hope that the workshops have been useful and that everything that was learned will be put into practice.

We thank all the speakers who took the time to be involved in this important cause and made the discussions so interesting and inspiring.

See you soon!
