Wine Drawing – New Approach Towards Psychotherapy Via Art
More and more specialists in healthcare need more sources in order to achieve psychic well-being, live a healthy and productive life. Daily challenges and stress related to work in healthcare institutions could impact psychic balance of medical specialists. In order to promote psychotherapy and versatile approach towards coping with stress, “Astra Forum” Foundation arranges two unique events called “Wine drawing”.
On the 2 nd of July and the 9 th of July, medical specialists and medical students gathered in informal surroundings in order to experience therapy via art. The events aimed at providing field for expressing emotions.
ART THERAPY
“Wine drawing” is not a simple art therapy, but especially created experience that combines psychotherapeutic practice and the process of creating art. The event gathered creativity of art of painting and pleasure of tasty wine. There is something magical in wine that stimulates our inspiration. When it is combined with art of painting, the result is unmatched harmony of colours, shapes and expressiveness. All this could be seen in the magnificent drawing by every participant.

Drawing as therapy has long history as means for alleviating stress and engaging human creative potential. On the other hand – wine symbolizes pleasure and unity with oneself and the others. The purpose of the event was for the participants to enjoy the creative process and connect with themselves and those next to them.
In addition to the creation of beautiful pictures, the participants took the opportunity to tell their stories and experiences from their practice with their colleagues that additionally strengthened the relationship between them and promoted their skill to share.
In the modern society, exposed to stress and worries, oftentimes we lack time and opportunities to take care after our mental health. So, events of such nature are of great significance. They provide us with space for recreation and self-expression while contributing for the improvement of our psychic well-being.
“Astra Forum” Foundation keeps supporting similar initiatives that combine therapeutic assistance, art and creativity while promoting the participants to discover new strategies for coping with stress. The Foundation Team invited the participants to join the monthly groups in psychotherapy lead by psychotherapists.
