The epidemiological situation
The epidemiological situation in many EU / EEA countries is deteriorating and the trend is expected to continue, given the rapid growth of the Delta option. The most recent increase in cases was reported among younger age groups.
ECDC published on July 15, 2021. weekly maps for the spread of SARS-CoV-2 for a two-week period in the EU and the EEA, updated according to data for the 26th and 27th week of the year. (28.06-11.07.2021).
The following countries are colored green:
- if the 14-day number of reported cases is less than 50 cases per 100 000 and the percentage of positive samples is less than 4%; or
- if the 14-day number of reported cases is less than 75 cases per 100 000 and the percentage of positive samples is less than 1%
The following countries are colored Orange:
- if the 14-day number of reported cases is less than 50 per 100 000 and the percentage of positive samples is 4% or more; or
- the 14-day number of reported cases is 50 or more and less than 75, and the percentage of positive samples is 1% or more; or
- the 14-day number of reported cases is between 75 and 200, and the percentage of positive samples is less than 4%
The following countries are colored red:
- if the 14-day cumulative number of reported cases of COVID-19 varies from 75 to 200 and the percentage of positive samples for COVID-19 infection is 4% or more, or
- if the 14-day cumulative number of reported cases of COVID-19 is more than 200 but less than 500 per 100,000
- the 14-day number of reported cases is between 75 and 200, and the percentage of positive samples is less than 4%
The following countries are colored dark red:
- if the 14-day number of reported cases of COVID-19 is 500 or more
The following countries are colored gray:
- if there is insufficient information or if the test rate is less than 300 cases per 100,000.
