Webinar: Hesitancy to Vaccinate Among Doctors and Patients
On the 21 st of July 2023 at 19 p.m. in Zoom the next edition of the sequence “School for vaccines” would be held that started in the beginning of 2023 with the support of UNICEF-Bulgaria.
During the webinar we would present summarized data from the first representative research of trust in vaccines among the general practitioners in the country.
The research is part of research works under the project with № KP-06-OPR03/15 dated 19.12.2018, “Children’s immunizations: challenge to the modern Bulgarian society (Research of issues related to communication between paediatricians and parents for outlining adequate measures to improve immunization coverage in Bulgaria”.
A team of researchers from couple of institutions have been doing research work for several years in order to be looking for solution to the public issues related to immunizations. The team is being led by associate professor PhD Lyubomira Nikolaeva Glomb, and the other researchers are doctor Savina Stoitsova, epidemiologist in the National Center of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Veronika Dimitrova, PhD in sociology in Sofia University and doctor Vanya Rangelova, epidemiologist from the Medical University – Plovdiv.

- Presentation of data presented in international researches that would show Bulgaria’s ranking on the world map of hesitancy towards immunizations.
- Summary of results of the local researches throughout the country.
- Research of communication styles implemented by the general practitioners in Bulgaria via factor analysis.
- Possible solutions and approaches for communication with society on vaccine-related topics.
